As early as 1877, Yale produced the first manual chain hoist with a load pressure brake - a design principle that is still used today. In 1936, hoist production in Velbert begins with the production of the world-famous PULLIFT®. 1868 – Linus Yale Jr. invents the cylinder lock and establishes together with Henry R. Towne a factory in Stamford / Connecticut for mass production.

1904 – Yale establishes its first sales offices in Germany, England and France.
