Danny Watson, the manager at Sling & Tackle Limited, invited our CMCO UK Business Development Manager Andy Dowell to demonstrate the CM BatteryStar to an assembled audience at Aston Martin Aramco F1 at Silverstone on Tuesday 25th February.
Operating at the absolute pinnacle of motorsport, shaving tenths of a second off lap times can mean the difference between pole or not, winning races or not, and ultimately winning world championships or not!
Every single part of the Aston Martin Aramco F1 operation is focused on achieving this goal, so to have the opportunity to play a very small part in contributing to that ultimate accolade is indeed a great honour.
In the fiercely competitive world of F1, steps forward in technological developments are closely guarded and protected for obvious reasons. So then, no surprise that photos and video footage are not permitted beyond the welcoming front foyer.
Whilst we can’t describe the precise application for which our BatteryStar is being evaluated, we can say that key features, like proportional speed control on the remote hand controller, enable extremely precise and accurate control of the payload throughout the entire lift and lowering sequence. This feature is especially useful during the ‘gentle pick up’ and ‘gentle put down’ phase without risk of damage to high value component technology.
We wish the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team great success as they prepare to kick off their 2025 World Championship campaign in Melbourne, Australia on the 14-16 March.
