EIGHT-CAR UNDERFLOOR LIFTING SYSTEM

Underfloor lifting systems raise entire trains to inspection height, allowing maintenance and repair work to be performed comfortably underneath the lifted vehicles. This synchronized eight-car pit lifting system from Pfaff-silberblau handles trains up to 200 meters in length and 384 tons in total weight. Synchronization is achieved via a frequency inverter (VFD) and a fail-safe Safety PLC.  

“FLYING CARPET” ROOF WORK PLATFORMS

At the Ashkelon rail depot in Israel, Siemens Mobility’s Desiro HC (High Capacity) electric trains are serviced using a full Pfaff-silberblau equipment package. The installation includes track systems, an axle-changing system, lifting tables, mobile jacks, hydraulic support stands, turntables, and so-called “flying carpets” for roof-level maintenance. Twenty-four mobile jacks with a capacity of 20 tons each lift entire trains safely for maintenance and overhaul work.

Pfaff-silberblau’s modular roof working platforms feature adjustable platforms and safety railings that adapt to different bus models. Height-adjustable stairs, extendable platform sections, and optional components such as cranes or lighting ensure maximum safety and efficiency during maintenance of roof-mounted systems.  

TRAIN FACTORY

STAHL CraneSystems supplied the complete crane technology equipment consisting of 71 wire rope hoists, 88 crane end carriages and the necessary controls for a new tank & freight wagons factory. The double girder overhead traveling cranes were each equipped with two wire rope hoists – an SH 60 with 16-20 ton capacities and a fast SH 40 auxiliary hoist with a 5-ton capacity.

London Underground Depot

The tube subway trains are maintained with the aid of a lifting system from Pfaff-silberblau. On account of its futuristic design, the maintenance staff has nicknamed the versatile and unique system the “Transformer.” The dual-purpose system is comprised of a total of 28 stationary hybrid lifting jacks with bogie lifting beams and body supports that raise and hold the trains. This design gives engineers ample and safe access underneath the train when performing service.
