Power & Motion Technology | Industry News | By Columbus McKinnon Corporation | Jul 02, 2019

GETZVILLE, N.Y., July 2, 2019 – Columbus McKinnon Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCO), a leading designer and manufacturer of motion control products, technologies, and services for material handling, today announced the availability of new CE-rated Magnetek brand Flex EX2 wireless control systems for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). These durable, rugged, and feature-rich radios are ideal for use in material handling, overhead crane, and industrial applications.

“Our latest generation Flex EX2 systems, available with transmitter and receiver combinations, can be configured to fit exact application needs,” said Norm Davis, product manager for radio controls. “Added features deliver greater control capabilities, increased operator safety, and more flexibility.”

Flex EX2 transmitters are available in four, six, eight, and twelve-button styles that combine with receiver options to best suit application needs. The transmitters feature an ergonomic design with a single thumbscrew for easy access to batteries and dipswitches, while retaining its IP66 rating for protection in harsh indoor or outdoor environments. Also available are a variety of accessories to provide additional protection and flexibility, including protective rubber transmitter boots, a retractable belt clip, and a convenient charging cradle.

Certain features of the Flex EX2 are enabled when four or six-button transmitters are paired with the space-saving MRX receiver. MRX can be mounted on the control body of a hoist to minimize the potential for imbalance. This receiver is ideal for basic or lightweight applications such as chain hoists. Full features are available with four, six, eight, or twelve-button transmitters when paired with the Flex EX2 receiver, which makes the transmitter and receiver combination ideal for cranes with additional control requirements, such as multiple trolleys or hoists, lights, or below-the-hook devices. All components are easily accessible and field replaceable. Systems are packaged with one or two transmitters and a receiver for easy replacement and increased uptime.
