STAHL CraneSystems SH Wire Rope Hoist Installation at Thompson’s Feed Mill

On the first weekend in November 2025, Columbus McKinnon’s service engineering team in Belfast installed a new Stahl CraneSystems SH Wire rope hoist for Thompsons Feeding Innovation.

Thompsons are a leading manufacturer of high-quality animal feeds in Northern Ireland, and they needed a robust hoist to lift the animal feed bags from their warehouse to transport vehicles on a daily basis.

The Columbus McKinnon team in Belfast supplied a two tonne SH Wire rope hoist with a sixteen-metre height of lift to meet their requirements.

The hoist then had to be urgently installed on-site at Thompsons to replace their existing hoist and keep production going. Over the course of three days, the CMCO engineers worked to precisely install and wire the hoist within the confined space of a cage lift.
