AEROSPACE & AVIATION

Precise lifting and handling solutions for aircraft manufacturing, assembly, MRO operations, and component suppliers — engineered for safety-critical environments.

What we can do for you

From moving large fuselage sections and engines to positioning sensitive components, we provide lifting and motion technologies that enable efficient, reliable, and damage-free processes. Our systems support manufacturers, MRO providers, and aerospace suppliers in meeting the highest quality and safety requirements.

Typical applications

In aerospace, the precise movement of large and delicate structures is essential. Our crane and hoist systems support aircraft fuselage assembly, wing and cabin module handling, engine service operations, and component logistics. Intelligent conveyor systems enhance production flow, while specialised lifting equipment ensures ergonomic and safe handling across all stages of aircraft manufacturing and maintenance.

Solutions for Aerospace & Aviation

ENGINE HANDLING & TURBINE TRANSPORT

To make the overall process—from maintenance to final inspection—more efficient, safer, and more precise, a customised lifting solution from STAHL CraneSystems was implemented. The system combines high-performance hoists and crane technology: four frequency-controlled SHF 60 wire rope hoists with 20-ton capacity each, supported by two SHF 50 hoists with 5-ton capacity each.

INTELLIGENT HANGAR SYSTEM

For the production of new long-haul aircraft, a dedicated equipment-installation hangar was equipped with our intelligent shuttle system from montratec. In the 38-meter-high hangar, multiple fuselage sections are fitted out in parallel. To optimize the workflow, the customized montrac®imageybvdp.png intralogistics system automates the entire material flow from storage (sequencer) to individual workstations.

EXPLORING SPACE

In South Africa’s Karoo Desert, astronomers use 64 radio telescopes as part of the MeerKAT project to explore deep space. The elevation movement of each antenna is powered by innovative technology from Pfaff-silberblau. The tilt of each telescope is set with millimetre precision using the TQS 200 linear actuator — a preloaded special ball-screw system driven backlash-free by a torque motor delivering over 100 Nm.
