Galleria at Roseville

Description: This piece is reminiscent of years gone by. It is meant to make you feel comfortable and welcome while representing a few of the elements that helped mold Roseville into the community that it is today.

The wine keg represents the early vineyard owners and wine makers of the area.

The pear represents the fruit growers of Placer County, who at one time were one of the largest suppliers of fruit in the country.

The railroad spike represents the railroad which first came through town in 1861. It ran from Folsom to Lincoln. It was the California Central Railroad.

The ice tongs represent Roseville’s P.F.E. ice plant, which is no longer in existence, but at one time was the largest ice plant in the world

The telephone represents Roseville Telephone Company. Roseville reported its first telephone in operation in 1891.

The table and chair represent hospitality.

The hammer represents the stonecutter himself as well as the history of the granite industry in Placer County.
